Chamfer error on pattern

I have a model with venting slots.   I have tried to chamfer them.    Some of the slots apply the chamfer with no issue.   Others slot it causes failures.

No. When I create more slots the chamfers give an error. When I space out the chamfers the ones that worked fail. Changing dimensions doesn’t fix it

Chamfer sometimes has issues when the edges aren't smooth/tangent.  which is the case here.  you can see from the zebra analysis that the slots are crossing over face edges that aren't tangent to each other.  You can also tell because the entire loop of edges isn't selected with one click, even though "tangent chain" is selected in the dialog box.

extrude 14 created one of the problematic faces because, outside of the body there isn't normal to the extruded face.  As a bit of a cheat, I was able to delete that face, just to see if I could get the chamfer to work.  I would suggest going back and fixing it properly with the sketches though.

I also used the pattern command to do the slots and chamfers, which I think is generally a better approach than using sketches, but that's up to you.

How can I fix the extrude 14?

The slots decrease with size.   Is there a way to pattern that?

Thanks

I didn't notice that the slots decrease in size.  No there isn't currently a way to model that with a pattern unfortunately.  You'll have to stick with the sketch method for now.

As far as fixing extrude 14 goes, It's hard to say.  Your model is a little jumbled up and hard to follow.  For instance, it looks like you removed some of the model with extrude 3, only to put it back with extrude 14?  You may want to drop back and take another look at your general approach.  It is way more complicated than it needs to be.  Can the material you added with extrude 14 be done with the sketches you used for the loft instead?
