Chain Faces Question

I am following a tutorial given by Lars Christensen. Fusion 360 For Absolute Beginners Part 2, 10:40 into the video. I have done this about 8 times and I continue to get the same result. The extrusion does not chain the faces together as Lars is discussing. The outside of the boss should meet the box entirely around the circumference, and this is accomplished by chaining the faces. But when I select "Chain faces" in the extrusion properties, it doesn't do the same as Lars' does. Before I built this super computer I was trying to work with Fusion on a sub par computer. I learned that if each phase of a model is not right, things will not work or fit later. A step like this seems to be critical in the final results. Especially if it is going to a router or printer. Can someone look at my model (attached) and see what setting is not right? Thank you all for looking and your response.

Link to video and timestep.

If I do a section view through your part - you Extrude 18 is incorrect.  (See timestep 9:12 he makes a big deal about this, but still somehow you missed it?)

In the file that you Attached here - you do not have Two sides set???

Contrary to the video - the Chain Faces is completely irrelevant for this Extrude.

The Extrude is going to go to that planar face. Period!  There is no Logical reason to cap with the inside fillets.

If you approach these problems with logic - you can figure out where presenters make their errors in logic.

(Sooner or later - everybody makes a mistake like this.)

No. I didn't miss it. That is the very thing I posted about. He makes a big deal out of using TWO side extrusion. 1 to 18mm and 1 to the inner surface of the box AND chain faces so that the extrusion blends into the surface of the box. Your section cut is jut the problem I posted about. Following the not missed video I did every step as shown. I guess I don't know what stage of the model I posted. He does this thing in two parts. The part you have shown in your reply is part one. Notice how he describes in very clear detail the problem with the boss not being fully attached to the face of the box (your section cut). Then he shows how to solve that problem. This is solved by extruding in TWO directions and selecting CHAIN FACES. My original post was about this moment when chain faces is used to merge the two bodies into one (so to speak). No one mentioned fillets. Why does the chain faces part work for him and not me? Obviously, here is something else going on that I hope someone can point to. I have attached what is supposed to be the most recent file which I have open at this moment. The time stamp is one minute old. There you should see the TWO sided extrusion and the chain faces selection. Also you will see the warning on the extrusion. I don't see it happening in the video either. But there are a few things in the video that are not like real life. For example, when he clicks on a surface to draw a sketch, the view rotates to normal on the surface automatically. I have to select the same view using the view cube.

Examine the file that I attached in my previous Reply.

Edit the Extrusion.

What do you observe?

The original presenter made an error in logic.

When you do the second Extrude (to Cut the hole), THEN use Chain Faces.

At 10:37 - the presenter actually states that he doesn't understand how the software works.

There are numerous replies to his video on YouTube about these issues.

Analyze with logic and do not accept everything the presenter says at face.

There also appears to be a change in the Fusion Interface.

Note in close-up view of what actually happened in the video - those tools have been swapped.

He actually selected Extend Faces, not Chain Faces.

I work in 3D - so that is one of the first things I turn off.

If you want it on - change your Preferences as shown below...
