Canvas flip-vertical not working on Z–X plane

Why doesn't the Y Distance move my canvas on the XZ plane?

I'm using Fusion 360, and when I edit a canvas placed on the XZ Plane, changing the Y Distance value has no effect—the image doesn't move at all. As shown in the screenshot, the Y Distance is set to 112.7 mm, but the canvas remains in the same position.

Horizontal movement (X Distance), rotation, scaling, and flipping all work correctly. The issue only occurs on the XZ Plane; canvases on the XY and YZ planes behave normally.

Is this expected behavior, a bug, or is there a setting I'm missing?

@nmummadiWMT4Z

Can you share the file with the image/canvas in it?
Because mine moves just fine.

This was a previous bug, check that you have the latest update.

My Fusion version is v2704.1.36 and the bug is fixed for me.

Hi,

I find initial placing and manipulating a canvas can be a little "twichy" sometimes.

It is easy to accidentally flip an image and resize when you don't mean to.

In terms of not being able to place a canvas on the XZ plane, you must be doing

something incorrectly because you select the Plane for the canvas as the first

thing you do. It is not a Bug I am aware of.

I would also strongly advise NOT to try to Calibrate an image by using the size

sliders. The method I use and easiest is to simply put the canvas in to where

you want, then use the Calibrate command to get it correctly sized. After you have

done this you THEN position the image where you actually want it. I do this

frequently with 3 View images of Aircraft. Insert Canvas, Calibrate and move to

Position and line all three of my images to a common Origin. Since I have already

calibrated the images they all fit exactly as they should.

In this case you can see that I have my common Origin actually ON one of

the Origin Planes all lining up with the tip of the Nose of the aircraft.

Cheers
