Cant convert Mesh to Solid

Hi there,

maybe someone can help me out. Im trying to Convert the attached File into a Solid Body. I tried the same procedure that worked dozens of times.

Wanted to create Face Groups->convert Mesh->Parametric (im using the Free Version)

Problem is, even after several times simplifying the mesh (reducing) the programm just does not want to get this Mesh Solid.

Download zur betreffenden STL.  Klick

Yikes it is massive, Tenerife? What will you do IF you get it to a solid body? Is conversion essential?

I wanted to alter the model so that it has a road on it and some studs for a cable car. it is meant to be a Diorama for a Wedding Gift.

If the output is going to be 3D printed, then Fusion isn't the right software to do this!

Internally, under the hood, so to speak, CAD software does NOT represent 3D geometry in form of triangulated meshes, but in the form of analytical geometry and NURBS.

You'd have to remesh this into a quad-mesh and then convert the result into a T-Spline, which would then allow you to  use the "normal" tools in Fusion to make the modifications.

You are much better off using a software that was designed to work with triangulated meshes I would use Autodesk Meshmixer, or Blender for this.

Thank you for the explaination.

Given that i never worked with either of the other two programms and that i have to get that Project finished until the 29th, i worked around the limitations.

just filled the Model in BambuStudio with Cubes and bought a 3D-Pen to fill the inevitable Holes that will be present in the finished Print.

When i will have a little bit more Time next to my 9-5, i will take a look in the other to Programms you mentioned.
