Cannot select the sketch to extrude

Trying to extrude a second sketch perpendicular to my primary sketch but the extrusion tool doesn't allow me to select the area to extrude. I had already done this, but had to redesign the second sketch from scratch and now I can't select anything in the second sketch to extrude it.

I did a search on this but none of the solutions seemed to apply.

Use "Divide and Conquer" to find the break in the profile.  The small break is where I placed the red arrow, missing a tangent constraint.  Model attached.
