Cannot Select Projected Points for Ordinate Dimension

I am attempting to use the ordinate dimension tool to dimension a circular feature.  I want the origin to be at the bottom left corner of the drawing.  To do this I need to project points--the edges of the part.  Fusion can 'see' the points and project them, but it will not allow me to select their intersection.  Saving the drawing and re-starting Fusion has no effect on this problem.

I have seen this issue before, and apparently so have others.  It appears that it may be a Mac-only bug.

Hi Josh,

Unfortunately this is not currently supported.  We can create an associative dimension for the case when you have two edges which can be extended, say two edges that meet at a fillet.  Then we extend out those edges and acquire the theoretical intersection point.

For this case, while we can track to that point, we don't actually acquire it as an associative intersection - you can't place the dimension and the little x doesn't turn green.  I will check with the developers on what is required to support this, but right now it's a limitation.  You'll need to use other dimension types unless you want to set the ordinate origin on the actual part, which in this case isn't ideal.

Thanks,

Chris

@cmiller66,

Thank you for the feedback.  I appreciate the Fusion team's timely communication.

Please let me know the status of development on this; if there is not a plan to add this feature in the very near future, I will make an IdeaStation post, as I think this is one of the basic requirements for an ordinate dimensioning tool.

Hi Josh,

Please go ahead and create the IdeaStation post.  While we are aware of the request, getting more user votes for an issue does help us prioritize them.

Thanks,
Chris
