Cannot offset a body inside an uploaded step file

Not sure if this is a bug or if it is by design. I did a screencast to show the issue.

Anyway, when I create a body inside an uploaded step file I cannot offset the body using the press/pull command. It does not give you the ability to highlight all the faces. In the screencast you can see there is an option missing the moment you click a face inside the uploaded step file.

You haven't inserted the screencast after you have selected it from your list. So we don't see it.

Could you share the model, too?

Have you tried to enable the design history?

This technique may work for you if the step file is not too complex:

@etfrench: Do you know that the shell command can process more the one face at a time?

It's been three or four updates since I last used the Shell command Smiley Happy

Press/Pull works in Direct Modeling mode as well.  It's a matter of which face(s) to select:

Strange - I've created an STEP-File on my own and wasn't able to select the fillet.
