Cannot find downloaded file from A360

Suddenly I can't not open my design!

I had no problems yesterday, but this morning I am unable to open the file. I solved the problem temporary by downloading the design from the web interface and then upload to Fusion 360. But this is not an ideal solution and it makes me nervous when I can't open my files.

I have attached the Fusion360DiagnosticLogs

Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

Hi @3Dpcb,

I am sorry to hear that this happened. Thankfully, you found a workaround in the meantime, but I will investigate this further with the team. Huge thanks for attaching the log files - I'll take a peek at this now and see what we can find.

Thanks,

Hi @3Dpcb,

Taking a look at the log files, I suspect that a rename of the file earlier today caused some form of confusion for the system. A workaround that allows you to open the original design again may be to delete a specific file on your computer (I'll send details in a private message). In the meantime I'll be investigating this area to see if I can reproduce the problem.

I don't think it was because that I renamed the file. I did that later when I imported the file into Fusion 360.

Hi,

Looking a little deeper into this, I can see saves in the logs you provided for versions through to version 13, it appears versions 14 to 16 were then created elsewhere yesterday (on a different computer), and the problem occurred when you tried to open version 16 on this computer this morning. I don't see anything in either your client logs or our server logs that explains why you encountered an error when opening this morning, since it isn't the rename, would you mind inviting me (matt.pooley@autodesk.com) into your project temporarily so I can reproduce the problem and track it down ?

Regards,

Matt

Hi,

Thank you for the invitation to the project, interestingly, I was able to open the problematic model, which suggests that the local files on your computer have reached an invalid state somehow.

Were you able to try opening the design again after deleting the file I mentioned via PM ?

Regards,

Matt.

After opening the design on my homecomputer everything is working perfect again.

I don't know exactly why, but I can open the file again. It must have been a temporary glitch.

Thank you Fusion Team, for the quick support as always.

I just encountered this same error. Dropbox filled up my drive to capacity while I was working on a Fusion 360 design and Fusion crashed. I then had this same error as you after I cleaned up some space. I tried offline mode and found that the files that gave this error showed as grayed-out in offline mode. So I closed Fusion and renamed the %localappdata%\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360. I changed it to ... Renamed Autodesk... I launched Fusion again and all is well.

I just had the same error, and I still have no idea what caused it, but I was able to load the previous version of the file, then I saved it as the current design and it's working now. To do this, open the project browser on the left side, and click on the version number in the bottom right corner of the design in question (it will look something like "v7").  Then you will see all the previous versions. Click on the little folder icon on the  bottom right of the version you want and it will open it. Then, right click  the root component and click "Save as Latest". Hopefully Fusion will figure out what the actual root cause of this issue is but for now this seems like a functional workaround.
