Cannot emboss sketch profile onto solid model (of a pot)

I created a pot with a revolve.  I did it this way because I was basing off a mesh from thingiverse that did not convert (prismatic) to a solid (4 separate mesh bodies get created).

This revolve seems to have created multiple disconnected faces.  Hmmm...

When I try to emboss, I can only pick one face.  My knowledge about methods to achieve the emboss I want seems to be very lacking.

I am hoping for advice on how to emboss the sketch profile (it is a symbolic one of a calm yoga pose) onto the pot.

Thank you.

Hi,

1. embossing is only possible on one surface, but currently this is not (yet) possible on multiple curved surfaces.
2. with a "homogeneous" surface, one could make an extrusion "from object".

Thank you.  i find embossing works best if I stay with a cylinder or a square shape as it seems you are suggesting.  This limits the embossing feature. But it is still usefull.

You could draw a dummy bowl that matches the contour of the segmented bowl, and create a solid of the engraving from it. With combine you can cut out the engraving.
