Cannot create new edge.

I'm following online tutorial, and I tried to create a new exact edge while following the tutorial, and it says I cannot create a new edge. Of course, I've tried restarting, etc etc. I've also tried looking online for a solution, but there is no solution on the interwebs.

I've posted a video, as well as the file itself to see if anyone can find a work around.
As per usual, I'm following the video step by step from launching the application up until the issue.

I've even re-tried doing everything, being more meticulous, but to no avail.

I just ended up adding a ton of simple edges, since "Exact" edge doesn't do what it should do.

Whether this is a good practice, or a bad one is entirely irrelevant at this point. I'll go to using exact edges once autodesk fixes their software, or...something breaks.

So for any other poor son of a b in the future using the udemy link that I'm using as a (horrible) tutorial guide, just simply add a ton of edges, instead of trying to use an exact edge. It'll never work, and there is no where else to find any help on the issue (youtube. forums. udemys q&a page).

🙂 Cheers.

Quite frankly, most of the official Autodesk T-Spline tutorials I've seen are pretty bad and if this tutorial instructs you to create an N-Gon with more than 5 vertices than it isn't worth watching.

As a general rule T-Spline tutorials that don't frequently use box view mode to check quality geometry or even to actually model most of the geometry are likely not worth watching.

I'm beginning to think the same. I figured during the tutorial, we would actually re-create the whole box knife..Instead, it showed me how to just form the box around the knife.
Not actually add the holes and other such things.

Did I learn from it? Slightly, but not by much. I strongly dislike when they just brush over things, giving you a 10% explanation, expecting me to hop in and design a space craft right after.

What tutorials would you suggest I watch instead, when it comes to designing products, etc.??
