Cannot adjust sweep body through time line

Hi,

I have created a sweeped body as shown below, by

1) creating an ellipse sketch

2) creating a closed path to sweep along

3) executing Sweep command on the above elements

Now, I would expect that I can go back on the time line, to steps 1) or 2), adjust either of those elements and then see those changes propagated into the sweep. However, this does not happen, the sweeped body remains unchanged.

Why is that happening?

This can get really tedious down the time line, if you have to recreate the sweep for every change.

Thanks for feedback, regards

Willy

Your expectation is correct.  You should be able to adjust either the path or the profile and have the result update correctly.  Can you post the design?

I've actually noticed an interesting difference:

a) if I go under Create>Sweep, I get a standard body that behaves as expected (ie I can later change the underlying sketches)

b) if I go under Sculpt>Create>Sweep (this is what I fist did), I get a T-spline body, however, that one will not change any more if you change the underlying sketches

For my case, I could work it with approach a), but I still find the behavior a bit odd.

Regards

Willy

Yes, this is correct, Sculpt (TSpline) features are not parametric (history based).  This is intentional - the entire Sculpt workspace is not parametric, because actions such as Edit Form would not make sense to capture in a timeline.  The idea is that you edit TSpline bodies in a much more push/pull way than you do solid bodies.
