Can you create a "Fluid Volume" with an offset from the part ?

Hi there,

I am trying to design some simple brackets for DT04 connectors. Is there any way to get the geometry of an object (with proper offset/ clearance) and create a "mold" from it? I was trying to use "fluid volume" command but it gets slightly messy with more sophisticated geometries. Hopefully few screenshots will do better job with explaining than me .

Try Create > Boundary Fill, or Modify > Combine > Cut, but totally dependant on your end game.
