Can't transform component properly in Fusion 360

Hey guys,

I'm trying to transform a single component of a multi-component mechanism using Fusion 360. The mechanism itself consists of a 3-sided cover which can move up and down in the y-direction by transforming the piston rod of an air-cylinder that's attached at an angle to the inside of the cover. The cover is also separately attached at the top to a pivot rod, which itself is attached on both ends to 2x mountable sleeve bearings, which themselves are mounted to the wall (not visible).

Now, when I transform the piston rod so that it pushes the cover up and down, I want it to also pivot on the pivot rod - very similar to opening and closing the hood of a car. I've tried adjusting and readjusting the positions and types of joints, but haven't been able fix this. Thoughts anyone?

You model had all the necessary components and joints but it is missing a base ground component in order to react against.  I do not know if I have positioned this component, last in the Browser, correctly but you do have your motion using your cylinder.  Model is attached.

You need to ground those components that are fixed and will not move.

Or instead you can use an as-built joint between those components that you want to fix and the top level origin.

I grounded the "Pivot rod" and the ".5" Mounted sleeve bearing..."

Then this assembly behaves as I would expect it to.
