Can't read Simulation results

Hello,

I have a problem with the font used by Simulation to display the legend and numerical results, as shown in the pic attached.

I'm running Fusion 360 in Windows 7, running on my Mac with Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac. I realize it's probably not the simplest way to go, but this is my current set up. Everything else runs well, all the other features are displayed correctly, so far it is the only issue I have encountered.

Can anyone help me fix this ?

Thank you for your help,

Laurent

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your reply, and sorry about the duplicate post.

I suspect that there might be a font missing in my Windows 7 system. Would you know which one is used to display the numerical results in Simulation ?

Thanks,
Laurent

Hi @laurent.vidonne,

I've just checked with the Sim environment team to see if use different fonts from the rest of the Fusion 360, and it does not use any special fonts. Are you able to create a sketch dimension for example without issue?

This could also be a Parallels issue. I took a look at their knowledge base and they've documented a problem that looks similar to the one you're experiencing. Could you try changing your hardware acceleration options to DirectX9?

Regards,

Andrew

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for you reply.

OK. Could it be just a variation of the font or something ? The Browser, Design history and dialogs are displayed correctly.

I've checked and found that the Sketch dimensions are jumbled in the same way than the numbers in Simulation results. I can input the value without any issue but when displayed, they are replaced by gibberish.

I've followed the link to the Parallels KB, but no luck so far : I might have to update my version of Parallels first, as I can't find the settings they are referring to.

Hello again,

I had initially overlooked something, but was finally able to follow you advice : it worked great !
Both Dimensions and Simulation numerical results show up correctly.

Thank you very much for your help 🙂
