Can spline edit points be hidden/locked?

I'm having the same problem as this user

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/hide-sketch-points/m-p/7521075#M13470

But cannot reproduce the solution in that thread.

I've created a number of shapes and having tuned their contours, I'd like to treat them as rigid outlines and prevent the spline points from appearing in the editor. There's quite a few of them and they are slowing down my PC and getting in the way when I try to click on a shape, and not the spline points themselves.

Can these points be hidden in the selection filters or made invisible while editing a sketch?

Have you tried selecting the spline then apply a fixed constraint from the sketch palette?
