Can not sweep a coil designed spline

I have a student who can not create a sweep on a spline created coil.  We keep getting the same error " The sweep could not create a valid body. Try changing the profile or path, or adjusting the operation values." I am using the same technique used in Inventor (which works) but this error is causing us headaches.  I am new to Fusion, so any help would be great.  I am attaching a screenshot of the coil and error message.

If clarification is needed please let me know.

Thanx

if you file/export the .f3d file and post it, it will be easier to help.

here is the fusion file for the spline/coil.

as a general rule, you want to minimize the number of control points you use in a spline.  That's not the specifiv problem here, but it does tend to cause some grief when trying to produce surfaces from the splines.

but, the general problem here is that the path is made up of multiple spline segments, and those segments aren't constrained to be smooth.   the are almost tangent, but not exactly, and that condition can mess with fusion also.  Here is a screen cast demonstrating finding the problem and adding constraints to make things smooth.

at the end I demonstration a possibly better way (depending on what you want to end up with) to make a coil path.

here's a screen cast of sweeping the coil I made.  it doesn't want to sweep with a regular sweep, so I switched to sweep with a guide surface.  then played around with the coil settings.  I'll leave it to you to get the settings right so it looks like your canvas

Any reason for not using the spiral option in the coil feature? Also use an edge from the body as a projected coil\spiral is not as accurate, you'll see in the attached file the surfaces are not segmented.

Not a good one.  Forgot that feature was there.  With that, and setting the cross section to a circle, the op may be able to get what they want just from the one feature.
