Can I extrude the union of a rectangular pattern and another sketch shape?

I have an area on several sides of an enclosure box that needs vent holes - but only in specific areas. I have parameters set up that define the shape of the box and the size and spacing of the vent holes, but I need a way to have all of the vent holes, that appear in a specific part of the sketch, extrude through the wall of the enclosure. When I change the parameters for the size of the box, the size of the holes, or the spacing between them, I want the vent holes to update to fill the space defined by the enclosing shape. I'd very much hoped that I could create a rectangular pattern that only extended to the border of the enclosing shape, but that doesn't appear to be possible.
For a static object (one that I don't intend to be messing with the size of the box, holes, or their spacing) I'd just manually select each hole by hand to do the extrusion. That's going to be an issue with a parameterized design, though.
In the screenshot, I've made the rectangular pattern huge enough that it completely overlaps the circle. I'd like the vent holes to extrude through the wall of the box anywhere inside the circle. Preferably, partial holes would be possible, but that's not critical.
Thanks.
