Can I convert a STP sheet metal file from another program and flatten it in fusion 360.

Don't know if it will come in as a sheet metal part.  probably not.  You can frequently convert imported geometry into a sheet metal part. depends on the part.

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.  better yet, attach your file.  Maybe someone here will give it a go.

Currently, Fusion can not convert imported parts to sheet metal parts, but they are working on it. No clue when that will be working and in though.

I meant to say yo can frequently manually convert an imported model to sheet metal.  If it started off as a sheet metal part, it's usually not to difficult.
