Is there a way to convert a component back to its original form in bodies?

Hi, that’s cool I never drew your, or anyone else’s, experience into
question. I just said there are better platforms for learning, with visual
aids and examples. I also never recommended creating components from
bodies. I’m addressing someone who doesn’t know the difference, and likely
has projects that are comprised entirely of bodies and may want to convert
them to components to explore their potential, work with assemblies,
joints, etc.

Sorry for being a bit aggressive! I find this forum an excellent learning resource as it provides interaction and feedback for those who are willing and interested in learning.

I am not necessarily sure these sources are better. There is a lot of "stuff' on youtube, for example.

Some of it is good, but how does a new user decide what is actually proper advice and training?

I've seen quite a few references from users here on the forum to "educational" videos that had better not be made, or when an otherwise knowledgeable content creator steps out of his area of expertise and then provides not-so-great advice on areas he clearly has too little experience in.

I've tutored a number of users who ran into problems when following YouTube tutorials.

Fair, although without regulation that could happen anywhere. I think for
the majority of learning users, the absorption of visual materials is more
effective in training the basics. This is a complex program with a nuanced
workflow and it’s difficult to convey ideas without providing an
example-based teaching system that viewers can follow along with. I think
trying to put it into words can just be too difficult. But yes, I agree
there is some less-than-great content out there.

I completely agree! Most advice given here is by demonstrating proper techniques in a screencast, preferably with the users data set.

VERY late to conversation, but just select the component then copy paste, it creates a body in the main "Bodies" folder. You can then delete the component folder

Your statement, as written, does not give a solution to this Forum post.  If you select a Component, from the Browser, Copy it then Paste it back into your assembly, you get another Component containing an identical Body as the initial Component but it does not create a separate Body.  Please post a video of your process that validates your posted solution.

copy and paste the component, the new copy will automatically convert to a body.
