I was building this cam and follower mechanism for a school project, and I wanted to add a barrel cam to introduce horizontal movement. At first I tried a normal hexagon cam and achieved proper movement with a slider joint and a tangent relationship. Then I tried to create the relationship for the barrel cam. I did the same thing, but instead of a vertical slider joint I made it move on the X-axis. Then I also added the tangent relationship. Whenever I try to move the cam, the first rotations go smoothly and work as expected. The problem is when I release the handle at a certain position the mechanism always gets stuck (the handle, cams, followers), and I have to use ctrl + b to reset everything back to its original position. I wanted to know why the mechanism was getting stuck, and any possible solutions. I have attached the file here. Any help would greatly be appreciated!
