BUG: UPDATE problems after model has changed.

I've found more problems related to keeping everything up to date after making a change to a model. In these case, they are showing up on the CAM side but I'm posting them here because my suspicion is they are related to other model update issues I've seen this week after the update (that and fact that nobody has even responded to the last two CAM topics I posted).

Below are two screen casts showing what I'm seeing.

Hmmmm... can't put in TWO screencasts? Will make another post.

Hi @fritter63,

Sorry I wasn't able to post to this thread sooner! Are you still seeing this issue? That does seem very strange based on your two screencasts and I would like to investigate this further. Can you invite me to the project (I only ask for this way so I have access to the previous version before the change, my email is james.youmatz@autodesk.com)? I'd like to try to test around and see if we can find a workaround in the meantime as well as the root cause of why this is happening.

Thanks,

Hi @fritter63,

Sorry for the late reply!

I took a peek at this today and it looks like you have made significant progress from the time the screencast was created (you are on Version 59 now right correct?) I took a peek at some of the errors from the screencast, but it didn't look like they were present anymore. The stock seemed to be the correct size for the CAM operation. Also, I took a peek at that 2D contour you were running into issues with. It looks like those stray points have disappeared. Unfortunately, I can't really test too much to see if it forgets your geometry selection without changing your design around. I know we had an update last week that should have taken care of this issue (referenced components were not updating correctly). I just wanted to check in and see if these issues were still present with you or not. If they are, I will take another peek! (My apologies if they were and I didn't notice).

Also, very cool model! How far away are you from a finished product?

Thanks,

Yes, I think I got past it, can't remember for sure but I think I created a new setup and copied the ops to it.

I think it is ready for me to cut an actual part (guitar neck) on both sides when I get back from my business trip at the end of the week!

Hi @fritter63,

Awesome! Glad to hear it! I will try to monitor it best I can, but if it comes back just reach out.

Definitely post pictures when you're done machining!
