Bug Report: Unable to move projects (Screencast Inside)

Unable to insert projects in a different folder into another project. (accidently saved in wrong folder).

Tried to move to the correct folder, but am unable to for some reason!.

This is holding me up on my design, hope someone can either do it for me manually or 'fix' the issue on the site.

Thanks!

Thank you for the video, it is very helpful to explain this issue. and really sorry to bring this problem to you..

Move design to another project works in most of cases, but if this file already been inserted in another design(meaning it has X-ref relationship), or you try to move a design which is created by another one invited to this project, or the account has expired(clearly your account has not expired:)-- move projects will not work. Current workaround is Save as to another project, and after that delete the original design…

If your case not belonging to any of those situations, please do let me know!

Invite me to your project (email address: adele.jun.wang@autodesk) then I can try to fix this issue 🙂

Regards,

Adele

And BTW, there are still some more improvements in our side on the error notification, the error report seems not very helpful to tell user what's the problem:(
We will bring an improvement base on this post, thank you!

hi,
could you pls add me into the project (xindong.zhu@autodesk.com)? I will take a deep look at it.
Now if there is X-ref in the assembly which has link to its sub-components, it can not  move the assembly into another project.
Any more questions, pls let us know.

thanks,
xindong

When I went to 'save as' the same issue persisted. Unable to select a different folder.
However, I was able to 'break link' of an inserted design, which allowed me to 'copy' the project over to the proper folder

Who should I share it with, you (zhuxd) or (adelemm)?

Either works:)
So it seems this is because the design you try to move already have relationships, at this moment other than "break link" to isolate files and copy over them there seems no other workaround.

I will discuss with our developers see if we can bring a better experience to you.

I am having a similar problem.  I saved a design and the drawing I created in the wrong project and I have been unable to move either of them. I did a "save as" with the design and was able to save in the new folder however I have not been able to do so with the drawing as it has a link.  I appear to be able do so if I break the link but this defeats the purpose and benefit that the link provides.  Please fix.
