Copy/Paste New of a component with subcomponents generates the 'Failed to get owner occurrence transform' error.
The pattern is the tooth profile.

Redefining the sketch plane to the origin of the copy/pasted component will eliminate this as described in this thread but that does not explain why it even happens. This could be a bug.
I believe @innovatenate isn't with the Fusion 360 team anymore (judging by his absence on the Forum for at least 6 Months) so I am tagging @jeff_strater.
Actually, redefining the input body for the pattern cured the first failure, then redefining references for each of the other failures cured those as well.
