Bug? Extruding (to)

I'm running on macOS Sierra and have encountered a bug in this latest updated, perhaps the one before as well.

- draw a simple sketch of a square and extrude it

- On the square face I've drawn some simple shapes

- Attempting to extrude them using the (To) option causes an error every time.

This must be a bug, no? I've included a screencast. Note the error in the bottom right corner when attempting to use (To). Ironically the distance is set properly, so switching back to Distance gets me the result I want most of the time.

It's using what I call sneaky UI.  If you look closely, you'll see the dialog changes and there's a new entry called "Chain Faces".  Change that selection and all will be well.

Why not click on the face you want to extrude to after you have extruded the shape a small amount, I think that function is fantastic and it really helps speed things up.

As @etfrench said if you've picked face you need to change from Chain Faces to Extend Faces, or pick point:

Because it still fails, sadly. This changed recently. And the answer is to change the "Change faces" as above.

It is super handy. I have no idea why it defaults to such an unacceptable and constantly annoying state.

That was it. Thanks!

But why was this change made? It seems so unintuitive. And it isn't mentioned in the online docs, or in the 'tips' in the app.

You're right. Thanks. (and for the trouble of the video).

Why is the default such that it breaks the old behavior? It would be nice if it was actually documented.

But thanks again. you and @etfrench have made life so much easier. 🙂
