Break Link Error - The selected instance has some essential dependent instances.

We started our model like we would in Solidworks, with the major components each having their own assembly.  This worked fine as it allowed us to work on separate parts, with the idea that we could break the links later.

Last week I tried to break the links but I was getting an error (Error: The selected instance has some essential dependent instances. Break Link is currently not supported!).  From what I can see this is a bit of a bug in Fusion that is being worked on (as of a year ago).  All good.  One suggestion was to turn off Design Capture, which would let you break the links, then turn it back on.

This worked, but then it ruined the parametrics in the model.  Now I am back to trying to figure out what these dependencies are.  Is there a way to view the conflicts yet?  Are they just joints?

Is the external assembly used in a pattern in the parent? That can cause the message you see. I do not believe it is due to joints.

Also, I'm curious why you want to break the link at this point. Is it so the external linked components can be edited from within the main assembly?
