Both my Flange and Bend tools appear to be missing the expected options?

I have viewed a number of You Tube and Support threads for the function, but I don't get the same options?

Have I got an Add On missing or something?

You have not selected an edge of your sheet metal.  Try that to get the options you desire.

Edit: The Bend tool requires a sketch line on the sheet metal face to select.

Hi,

Is the body already a sheet metal body or does it need to be converted to one first.
Please share the file.

It was a sketch I created in Sheet Metal.

That really does not answer @g-andresen question.  You may have created a sketch, but did you create a sheet metal body from that sketch before trying to add a flange to it as I indicated in my screen capture?

I had selected the edge, before I choose flange, but the highlight disappears when the box opens.

The same happens when I try Bend.

Look in your Browser for the body you are trying to create a Flange on. Do you see this symbol indicated beside it?  If not, it is not a sheet metal body and you cannot create a Flange on it.  You could simply attach your model and someone will check it for you.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

That is the problem then, you do not have a sheet metal body.  You must use the Flange tool to make the original sketch into a sheet metal body.  The body will be flat but this is OK.  After that the Flange tool can be applied to any edge and the Bend tool can be used on any sketch.

Here is a video of the process of creating a sheet metal body and some Flanges on it.

All clear now?  As you can see you can create a sheet metal body directly, without the Convert to Sheet Metal command.

If my Forum post solved your question, please select the "Accept Solution" icon to do three things. First it allows others to find a solution to a similar question, two, it closes the Forum post and last, it acknowledges that you accept the solution given. If you need further help, please ask.
