BluePrints for reusable, complex project, many components, parametric design

I have projects with many sketches (more than 20) and components (more than 20).

Then I combine components in more complex designs and reuse them.

What are the best guides, rules with examples of how to design projects with many components and redesign it and reuse some components across many projects?

Complexity groves and sometimes it's better to start a new project from the beginning.

What are the best guides to achieving goals:

1. parametric design for sketch

2. how to reuse 2A) complex sketch in 2B) other design. Sketch parameters of 2A will be changed and have to propagate to 2B and many more.

3. complex project with many components (more than 50). Looking for guide: 3A. keep components in one design or 3b) how to split components design but we stuck 2A & 2B.

4. how to build complex interaction from many components 3A VS 3B

5. how to generate drawings for complex projects with many components. Again 3A VS 3B.

Please propose documentation, video, or blog with valuable information.

Hey @Anonymous ,

Well, you sound like you are a beginner. So I think you should start with "How to start with Fusion 360" checklist.

Then if you still have questions, please make a screencast and explain to us what exactly you are trying to do and we will help you. But it is very important that you learn the basics first!

Cheers / Ben

With a complex design, I mean more complex than model "Apollo 11 Command Module Hatch assembly by Andrew Barth, courtesy of Project Egress (https://airandspace.si.edu/events/project-egress-build)" like on

https://www.autodesk.com/products/fusion-360/blog/august-13-2019-product-update-whats-new/

Maybe there is a guide on how to :

- manage many components NOT in one design (separate files)

- document each component in DRAWINGS

- manage parameters across other design (separate files)

- sometimes deleting one constraint from the stack of multiple is too difficult

- able to change basic any parameter, constrain without destroying the whole project

Thanks for the advice.

I'd love to have so simple response:)

It's not a beginner problem.

It's like not how to design, but more important:  manage, change, document, reuse part, from a project like:

- caravan, trailer,

- car engine

Well, if you don't know how to reuse a component, then you are a beginner!
But I'll tell you anyway... If you want to reuse a component, then one way of doing it is to Right-click on the component and click "Export". Then you can upload it and add it to other assemblies.
There is another way called "Derive", but start with the easy one and we can talk about this one later.

I'm not doing you a favor by telling you all of this, I know you will have more question because your basic knowledge is not there yet. I just want to give you the tools so you can figure out things by yourself!
