Best way to colorize drawings?

Hello,

I am working on a project where I have some cut lists from plywood.  I have all of the parts laid out on the plywood, brought it into a drawing and dimensioned it out.  When I did cut lists in Sketchup I would group the parts and add a color to them (drawer parts = yellow, cabinet carcass = orange, etc).  So far it seems to me that I can either have just a black and white view or a rendered view in the drawing.  Can someone confirm this or show me a way to achieve the look I am after?  I've attached an image to illustrate what I want.

Thanks

It would seem to me that adding an appearance to your components or bodies and then use a rendered view in the drawing is the pretty solution for you.  If you want to, you can capture an image, from your model layout, in the Render environment and paste it in your drawing instead of a rendered view but then you lose the callout ability.
