Hi!

Is there any smart F360 sheet metal workflow how to make a correct bend radius when the sheet is half etched to make a "corner-to corner" bend? See image.

Surely the bend radius always equals thickness? Of course in reality there will be faceting.

Thanks for your answer but I don't quite understand it.

Normally sheet metal bend radius is depending on thickness. In smaller thicknesses (t), inner bend radius equals=t. Referring to: https://xometry.eu/en/bend-radius-reference-table-sheet-metal/

 

To make it a bit more complicated, you need to do some calculation to get the expected outcome.

In this case (see initial image) the 0.5t in bend area makes the radius smaller, namely 1t in OUTER radius and NO RADIUS on the inner.

 

Can F360 handle this in an effective manner, or do you need to work with 0.5t, and extrude to 1.0t in areas outside bend area?

It must be me that doesn't understand the question! Your original post said "corner-to corner". In that case r=thickness. What tool will do the bending?

As you can clearly see inner bend radius differ depending on the 0.5t slot compared to without.

Since in this case the sheet is very thin so the bending will be by hand.

 

If my explanation isn't all that good, images will help to understand.
