Bend only the part selected

Hi I want to bent the selected part but when I do so, the right part, that has to stay flat, bents aswell.

What do I do wrong?

Hi,

How have you modelled it? Are you working in Sheet Metal or are you modelling in Solid and then changing to Sheet

Metal and converting your model to sheet metal and then flat pattern?

Are you able to provide the fusion file so the forum can have a look at it?

Can you also clarify, what is meant to happen to the right bit of what I'm thinking is sheetmetal.

Do you want it to stay flat, an new material to form between the bent and flat part

Or do you want the left bit to bend, and the right bit to seperate from it completely?

A bit more context is required in this situation please

I recommend that you model in finished folded form and let Fusion do the Flat Pattern.

I normally work in 2d programs such as illustrator and coreldraw, I am very familiar with these.
Now I want to see if I can work better with a kind of autocad program.
That is why I started with Fusion 360, and if I like it I also want to use it for business. So I am teaching myself.
I have exported a drawing made in coreldraw to DXF, In Fusion 360 I imported this and converted it to "sheet metal".
I can't get all the settings done the way I want, it has to be like the support I have in the attachment.

the bend lines won't work physically the way they are currently laid out.  in order to create a flat pattern there is a good bit of calculation that needs to take place in order to get everything to work properly.  fusion does this for you if you start by modeling the folded form and flatten it.  the bend function was introduced so that people who already have a library of flat patterns could get the folded form into fusion.  these flat patterns would have already been properly calculated and laid out. In other words,  bend isn't a design tool.  you can use it the way you are trying to, but you're going to have to get out you're bend tables and account for your k factor and do the lay outwork yourself first (if you want final dimensions to be accurate).

Yes I want to learn it the correct way, and yes I wanted to go too fast.

In Coreldraw I make this sketch in less then 5 min so I tought I make the sketch in Coreldraw and do the rest in Fusion, but I realise that is not the correct way.

Hi! I took a quick look at the design and the images you attached. I could not find the exact place you want to create the bend. But I think I know what is happening. The bend line goes across the bend portion and it carries over the leg on the other side. This can be controlled by changing the bend line start. Edit the Bend feature and change the dropdown option from Start to Center or End. Does it work better now?
