Basket Weave Pattern?

How would you use Fusion360 to model a Basket Weave Pattern?

Like on a wicker chair.

Material in real life could be Metal Strips, Leather, Plastic, or Wood Strips, and maybe others.

Might be a new feature others would find handy as well.

Possibly a 'Noodle Mode' where a user could show the path the weave was to take.

Then let the software model the final shape that the material would be after the weave was completed.

Compensate for material thickness and stiffness, and calculate the length to cut the strips to, to complete the Weave pattern.

Thanks!

What about model ingthe chair normally and applying a "bitmap" appearance to simulate wicker or similar?

You could use an applicaiton like Exact Flat to figure out what a flattened out version of a surface might look like. I would guess this would give you a pretty good estimate of what the flattened out dimensions of the "strips" would like look.

Check out the Exact Flat add-in below:

I hope that helps!
