Balloon and parts list numbers do not match after renumbering the balloons

Hi,

I created an exploded view of an assembly by inserting components into a new design, then created a drawing of that exploded view and added a parts list.

I then added 2 items that had been left out of the middle of the exploded view.

The drawing and parts list table automatically updated, adding the new items to both the drawing and the list. I did have to add the balloons to the new items.

I then renumbered the balloons to match the layout (I.e. making the items easier to find in the exploded view by having the balloons numbered from one side to the other, rather than having the numbers randomly placed).

However, the parts list does not update the item numbers to match the renumbered balloon numbers.

It seems like the item numbers in the parts list are determined by the sequence that the items were inserted into the design. I.e. the first item inserted is numbered 1 in the parts list. The second item inserted is numbered 2 in the parts list. Etc. Etc.

Which means that the last 2 items inserted are numbered 19 and 20 in the parts list. After renumbering the balloons, these same 2 items now have balloons numbered 10 and 13, but the item numbers in the parts list are still 19 and 20.

Is there any way to force the parts list to update so that the item numbers in the parts list match the balloons they are supposed to refer to?

Regards,

Brett

Hi,

I had another look at this drawing. then tried deleting the table and re-inserting it. The item numbers in the table  then updated.

As a work around, this solves the problem.

However, it is not correct. The table should update automatically whenever something, that is referred to in that table, is changed.

My question now becomes-

"Why do the item numbers not update automatically when the balloons are re-numbered?"

Regards,

Brett
