Bad lexical cast error on inserting SVG

Not sure what is up with this or why I am getting this error:  "Bad lexical cast:  Source type value could not be interperated as target".  The SVG that I am trying to import was created in Affinity Designer (on a Mac with OSX 10.10.5) and used on Fusion 360 with the big Sept 2015 update and on the same Mac.  I have tried and tried to no avail.  Tried on a new project, and nothing.  Tried in the project where it was to be used and still nothing.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, can you open the svg file in inkscape?

Since I upgraded to Yosemite, I haven't been able to get Inkscape to work.  Which is why I got Affinity Designer (well worth the $40 or $50 it costs).

Any chance you can share the SVG file so I can see what it does on my end? If not I understand.

Can you try creating a SVG with simple shapes and see if the issue persists?

OK, So I converted the Text to Curves in Affinity Designer and that allowed me to import the image.  Only issue now, is that #1 it bogs the program down a ton after it is inserted and #2 when it is imported at 1.00 it is freaking huge.  Like 10x the size of the 8.5" square fixture plate I have in the model and it is much much larger than the 0.59" circle that it needs to go on.  Maybe I am just tired from a long day of CAD/CAM work, but I am having a heck of time trying to figure out how to get it the right size that i need.  Thoughts?  I haven't had much time to work on this as I have other, more pressing CAD/CAM demands right now.  But I do need to figure out what is up here at some point so that I can make it work as I have some work slated that will require the use of engraving.

Hi Sortafast,

The scale issue of SVG import is a known limitation. We’re exploring solution and hope to provide a better experience in future updates.

I don’t have Affinity Designer installed, but basically, I think the functionality should import 1 unit in the SVG file (from Affinity Designer) as 1 unit in Fusion.

You may check the Affinity Designer and see what the length of 1 unit is and calculate the scale. I know it’s not so straightforward, but hope it works for you.

Best Regards,
