automatically calculate the spacing of points on a curved surface

hello,

Hope you can help me on this one,

I have a curved shape with slots spaced regularly by 2,7mm on the outer shell of this shape.

I would like to figure out what is the spacing of every slot on the inside of the shell

As you can immagine, due to the odd shape, every slot has a different spacing on the inside :

What would be you strategy to automatically measure and ultimately create a flat pattern sketch of the inside shell ?

Thanks a lot

Thomas

PS : this topic is for calculating stitch spacing on a leather gusset project.

Hi,

without seeing the design, I can only say that due to the changing radii, even the distances on the inside cannot be constant.
But share the design to look more closely.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Quick question:

You do realize that your spline is not symmetric across the Z -Axis and that offsetting a spine breaks the curvature?
