Autodesk have any 3D SW which import F3D and export glTF?

Hello,

I need to get the high quality glB files from Fusion models. Unfortunately stupid original Fusion FBX export and all other 3-rd party "FBX export plugins for Fusion" by ProtoTech, VisionWorkPlace, SimLab and even direct "glTF/glB export for Fusion" by ProtoTech - spoils all Fusion models materials transparency and textures etc. So after export from Fusion all FBX/glB models also need many extra work and time to re-tune at other 3D SW many materials which is very annoying!

Does Autodesk have any other 3D SW (maybe for render etc) which can import Fusion F3D files and can export high quality glTF/glB with all transparency etc without problems?

Interesting!

I do a fair amount of rendering in Blender, and so far have found .fbx to be the best export option. But this gltf looks really promising.

If I need more control over my mesh creation from solid bodies then I use FreeCad. So export from Fusion as .step (super quick). Import into FreeCad and then convert to mesh there. I see FreeCad has gltf listed as an export option, although I have only used .stl.

When it comes to preserving your materials I don't know. Although I do know that .step does not support transparent materials at all, so maybe the other Fusion export formats are the same. It seems that Fusion uses the newer .step export (214) which exports colours, whereas the older 203 does not, but it's still pretty basic.

I have found Fusions material library to be underpowered when it comes to rendering (if this is what you are doing) and I always end up re assigning new materials in Blender anyway (if this is similar to what you are doing)!

If you export from Fusion via STL/STEP files - you lose all your materials from Fusion. So you do even much more extra work, then me with my method. 😞 Try FBX.

So your answer does NOT give any help for this problem resolving at all.

Maybe at least any SW which can import F3D and export FBX but with keeping the all transparent materials settings and "output details level" option?

Or maybe Autodesk will update Fusion standard FBX export to save all transparent materials settings???

I was not so much trying to solve your problem as simply joining in the discussion.

It seems evident that there is no answer to your question, and I was simply putting a couple of options on the table which I use, which I felt you might be able to make use of.

So my apologies for 'NOT' answering your question. I wasn't trying to.
