Assembly Tutorial Camera Leg hinge joint not working

Hi,

So I was just doing the Assembly tutorial in the "GEt Started With Fusion 360" Page, and when I got to the joint making at about 7:17 in the video, it doesn't work. I clicked on "as built joint" and selected the pieces he does in the video. Then after I change the joint type to revolute, it doesn't move like it should in the video. When I move the leg, the whole leg and stand just stay rigid and move about as one body. Why is this happening?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to Fusion 360 community! I did the tutorial and it looks like it doesn't explain Ground command. Components move freely because nothing is fixed to a location. Once you ground one of the components, you will be able to verify the joint motion. In the screencast below, I grounded component25:1 in stand:1. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks so much! This worked. Quick question though, why does grounding Component25:1 work and grounding the entire group stand:1 not work?

Thank you for your response! The discussion here gives you more details about the Ground command. I hope this information helps!
