How do i constrain or assemble 2 parts in an assembly, center plane to center plane? there is no geometry in the center of the parts that can be constrained to only center planes.

There are numerous ways to do it, but probably the simplest is to create sketches on those planes with some feature(s) (point, circle, etc.) as reference points for the joint.

Please share your design.

You are clearly approaching Fusion 360 joints with an approach that would use geometric constraints such as would be used in other CAD apps, but that sort of thinking is not going to work very well in Fusion 360.

Yes i do, i am used to Solidworks and Inventor, Inventor has both Joints and Constraints, but what I find is that I use the constraints all the time. It seems easier to use constraints when I want to make relations between several parts. It appears that joints works best of you only want to relate 2 parts.

In order to use joints i have to use workarounds, someone suggested to use sketches. Why not have geometric relations along joints in Fusion 360?

Hi,

Could you share you're design here please, so that we can suggest a way to snap to the point you want

Hi

I cant share the original, but I have made a test assembly showing my questions

http://a360.co/2gW4WIC

1 how do I fix the first cube to the center of the assembly (CAD demo)?

2 how do I constrain first cube to the sphere so that the sphere is in the center plane of the assembly

3 how do i constrain first cube to the second cube so that there is a distance of 20mm between the centers?

4 how do constrain the sphere so that the center of the sphere is 30mm from the first cube and 60mm from the second cube in the Z direction?
