Hi,
I am trying to create a model to 3D print. The model is a sphere with a diameter of 30 mm. The sphere is cut in two halfs. One half has an internal thread and the other half an external thread. It should be possible to assemble the two halfs so they close tight with no gap between. The problem is that I can't make a design without a gap of around 1 mm between the two halfs. I have tried to decrease the tolerance, but the gap persists. I have attached the latest attempt.
I would like to ask if someone has advice on how I can achieve this?

Not checked the file.
Both parts must be a component, use .
Joint, Select the outer ring edge of each component lip.
Use section view to rotate one part to align the threads.
Might help.....
Here is the model that @davebYYPCU is describing. You can rotate the top half to check your thread engagement.
