Hi

I use Fusion 360 to design furniture.I see Autodesk develop "Revit interoperability for Inventor".

Are there "Revit interoperability for Fusion 360" in future?

Check this mate :

Just a note, Script name changed to : Family.SAT Sync

It can also work for Furniture, just choose another category in the script

I hope you wouldn't create a Revit Furniture Family by converting a fully detailed Fusion 360 file.

Hi @Karambaki

Impressive with your team work, however dynamo is complex with me, different designer mindset.

Thank for suggest.

Hi @chrisplyler

I saw Revit interoperability for Inventor, one week learn then try to use. Inventor has alot of diffence with Fusion. They use input method frequently. In Fusion, It will be easier with drag and 3d modeling.

In Inventor 2021, we can use Revit file as reference 3d model. Very interesting, however Inventory is not feel good as Fusion, easy adjust in 3D...

Hope one day, Autodesk will make Revit Interoperability for Fusion

@travis.designer.vn
It's very simplified, just a 1 click play in Dynamo player and it'll get your thing done.. give it a try

@chrisplyler
If dealt with shapebuilder API successfully you can convert it, it's lightweight, and can customize the materials and subcategories just like a native Revit geometry, it's FreeForm created from the solids translated from shapebuilder.

It's lightweight? Sure, for just a free-form table.

What if I convert HVAC equipment? A manufacturer's design file is going to contain every little detail. Every nut, bolt, washer, etc. It's going to contain the electric motors, including every interior part of them. It's going to contain every fan blade, shaft, bearing, etc. It's going to make a giant mess of a Revit Family. And it is not going to automatically place MEP connectors either.

In this case, it is MUCH MUCH MUCH better to make your own Revit Family, using just a few basic geometric shapes to represent the exterior boundaries of the equipment item, as required for construction drawings. And using Revit MEP connectors to make it functional.

LOL, Who said anything about an HVAC equipment.. You asked for a Furniture, I provided you the solution.
I can safely insert Fusion furniture into Revit via a proper API handing.

As for HVAC, yes I would agree on that, just a basic geometry in Revit to represent it.

I didn't ask for furniture. The other guy did.

As long as the Fusion file is simple, I think your solution is great.

Well anyways.. the solution was to @travis.designer.vn  then.. I hope I made my self useful here
