Archtop guitar modeling, can't follow tutorial

I was looking for help on modeling archtop guitars and found a link to this screencast elsewhere in this forum:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/screencast/Main/Details/1d7370a2-67b2-438d-b75e-f2...

It seemed to be quite a good way as I don't want to use Sculpt, however I'm losing my temper as I can't seem to follow what he does. I'm stuck where the splines need to be broken to have individual segments to create the lofts with. The spline in sketch 1 needs to be broken where it touches or intersects the splines in sketch 2, 3 and 4 and the spline in sketch 2 needs to be broken where it touches or intersects 3 and 4.

I drew the sketches in the exact same order as he did but as soon as I go into sketch 2 sketch 3 and 4 go invisible but with his older version this didnt' seem to be case, however I guess it might be why it doesn't work.

Am I missing something or can someone come up with a working solution?

Regards

Martin

That screencast is missing s few key points when modeling with lofts.

I've created a number of screencasts to help users in other threads:

Thanks Peter, this helped a lot! It didn't work first time but I was finally able to reproduce your result for the left part of the guitar. However I have a cutaway and I guess that's why I'm having trouble with the right part. What workaround could I use here?

Were you aware that your design is pretty broken because of all the yellow warning signs in the timeline of the design?

Well frankly I hadn't noticed but unfortunately resolving them wasn't the solution. Before I add the rails the loft doesn't "flow" around the cutaway properly:

and when I add any of the rails the loft disappears with a "the loft would intersect itself" error.

I was finally able to solve the above problem by dividing into smaller lofts so that the flow around the cutaway seems to be acceptable at the moment but I simply can't seem to finish it because the last corner will always give an error whatever I do. In the process I got so angry at it that I had to put it away several times therefore it took so long.

The fact that Fusion doesn't seem to be able to tell me what the exact problem is makes these kinds of errors impossible to solve, in fact I need not only a solution for this very problem but also a way to deal with such problems in general.

I don't know if the problem comes from the curve being in two segments but as long as can't join them I can't do anything about it and I wasn't able to find any other workaround either.
