Arc to straight line based on parameters

I need to parameterize a box so that one end can be straight or an arc.

I tried using a 3 point arc with the center point being a line from the center of the box, but it doesn't allow for values of 0 for when I want to make the line straight.

Is it possible to arc the end of a box dynamically based on parameters?

Hi! I could be wrong but I don't believe this is doable at the sketch level. Essentially, you would like to dimension the arc in a way that it is a straight line (radius = infinite) or an arc (radius < infinite).

I would extrude the two profiles separately. Then suppress the extrusion consuming the arc profile when the flat bottom is required.

Many thanks!

Hi,

I would strongly recommend that you do the embedded tutorials in the Fusion Documentation and also some of the

Self-Paced Learning to help you to learn fusion faster and better. They can be found here:

It is also much easier for the forum to help you if you attach your file AND a screenshot of what you want to achieve

and what the problem is. You can create a file to export like this:

Time spent on the tutorials and self paced learning will not be wasted. Also check out the three RULES that

are pinned to the forum for further guidance.

You just need some dimensions and constraints in the right place.

Put your 3 point spline or arc between the sides. Create a construction line in the middle. Make sure that the

centre point is co-incident with the construction line. Create another construction line across but offset from

the bottom. Dimension it from the bottom. Create a Dimension from the centre of the arc to the second

construction line. If these two dimensions are equal then the Arc will be a straight line. If they are different

then the line will be an arc.

This is just one of many ways to do this.

Cheers
