Appearance on to Sketches

Hi, I am designing a building in Fusion 360. I was wanting to put some appearance onto the buildings different objects (windows, walls, desks, etc). This would make it look more realistic. The problem is, the building I designed is made up of "Sketches", not "Bodies." Is there a way to put appearance on specific sketches? Or is there a way to make sketches into bodies? Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

We probably need a bit more information about your design to answer completely.  The short answer is no:  You cannot put an appearance on a sketch region.

If your building is a solid body, though, you can use Split Face to, say, split the area defined by a window, and put an appearance on just that area of the building side.

You can also use the Patch workspace to create surface bodies, which can have an appearance applied to them.

I can provide a screencast showing how to do some of this, but it might help to know a bit more about your design, so I point you in the right direction.

Jeff

I made a video for you.  Please ignore my primitive house, and my fumbling around with the Appearance command, hopefully the point gets across:
