another reason why we really need hide and show of elements in sketch

the spline drawing tool created 3d inlcude geometry.

good luck finding and selecting those when everything overlaps and the UI states 3 times sketch point without telling who owns wich point.

so I need to delete the constraints move the spline then delete the 3d include geometry

and then I can move the spline back ...

pretty inefficient workaround - a with simple show and hide or better geometry selections this would be a one click deal.

Hi Claas,

It's clear that the 'workaround' is not good, but I don't understand much about the intents here, could you share some more details about this?

1. When do you need to do this workflow (remove constraint, delete 3d include geometry and then move spline back to original position) ?

2. About showing & hiding sketch elements, do you mean show & hide individual sketch line/curve extra ?  As we don't have related entry in browser for sketch elements, so it's might be not easy for user to show hidden elements back. But you also mentioned some better geometry selection behavior could also help this, such as indicates relationship of geometry and its own points, etc.

So for example if you want to re draft a a curve to match a projected or 3D included curve you can draw over the red line

but then there is no easy way to hide the new line and select the projected/included line and delete it.

also the geometry selection dialog lists sketch curves but for example does not list it as sketch curve / projected curve for example.

the reason to redraw is Fusion cannot make projected curve editable or redraw/refit them.

so for example the geometry selection could select not just point or curve but list hand drawn and projected stuff it would help

actually already.

however ein general hide show of sketches and constraints in general is important and I am surprised this is not clear to you guys.

Imagine you have a dense sketch hiding certain constraints and lines could make working much faster / easier.

obviously this might be an issue if you want to work with constraints - so maybe the selected elements could be grayed out

but still be accessible to the sketch engine (like driven constraints reading stuff out to you)

I agree that particularly with multiple superimposed points/endpoints it can be difficult to determine what goes to what...it would be nice if in the "click and hold selection list" when hovering over a point in the list, if it is an endpoint of a line or curve, then that line or curve would also highlight.

I'm sure you're aware of this already Claas but would just mention that while in a sketch can copy and paste a spline curve from another sketch, so that the duplicate will be editable in the new sketch. Also I've not used it in this regard but could make a Selection set of a curve that would like to select such as for deletion later.

yes but if for example it is a part of a projected curve or something and you resketch it you will run into this issue

Yeah I can see that happening projecting, for say some maybe surface curve.  If I ran into that case for ease of selection for deletion of original projected curve I would try making the projected curve a selection set.

Hi Claas,

We're aware of the requirement of show/hide all constraints in sketch, which is useful when sketch gets bigger and lots of constraints in it. But don't have enough information about showing sketch geometries individually.

About below issue you mentioned, we have the command "Break Link" to make projected curve editable. For projected spline, still not easy to edit it as it lacks of control/fit points for now. Again, thanks for the detailed info!

the reason to redraw is Fusion cannot make projected curve editable or redraw/refit them.

I like the idea that easy viewing the relationship of curve and its points. Also a good case of using selection set, good idea!

It's an issue in cases when multi curves at exactly same location with same shape, it affects selection and also snapping/inferencing. It might be good to add more info in the "click and hold selection list" panel, such as "Sketch Curve (Projected)". Thanks for the good idea!

I am aware of the break link but as you know you cannot edit the lines / curves which makes this command nearly useless for serious design work.

seeing the relationship would be very useful for better managing your sketches.

I added the idea long time ago but we also need better blend curve because the 3d include stuff

is just not a good workflow.

honestly a curve constraint should be able to align to sketch parts of other sketches without

the 3d include because this only makes the sketches cluttered with 3d include data.

Hi Class,

After break link on projected spline, it stil not editable (able to drag). But for lines, arcs are editable after using break link. There is an issue that do break link on individual projected goemetry sometimes couldn't be moved, it's a usability issue and need improve. Thanks!

1. after creating sketch, drag mouse to use window selection all, right click "Break Link"

2. all lines, arcs except splines are editable
