Animations not showing up in the drawing space.

Hi,

My animations are not showing up in my drawing as available representations. I've tried saving and updating, closing the program and reopening, exporting my file and uploading it back into fusion, but to no avail. I've tried scrapping my old drawing and starting a new one but the same problem persists. The only available representation is animation storyboard1 and its just an ISO view of my model, not an animation that I made. It seems that anything I do in the animation space is not reflecting in my drawing.

Any insight?

Jon

Hi,

I don't think it is possible to embed an animation into a drawing as it is meant to be a 2D representation of a model

not an animated 3D version. Basically you cannot print an animation onto a piece of paper.

I know you can do it in an electronic document but that is not what a Drawing is supposed to be.

I think you need to create your drawing and provide the animation separately.

Cheers

@Drewpan - the purpose of animations is to produce an exploded view of an assembly.  of course you can put that in a drawing, it's the primary purpose of the function.

@jonathanYY8UL - when you go to place a new drawing view, what do you see under "representations"?

Hi,

I think I misunderstood here that he actually wanted an animation in the drawing. I know how to put an exploded

view into a drawing (I think) but that is what I might refer to as a view, not a sequence of views that an animation

would be. To me a view is something that can be printed where as an animation is something you watch.

Cheers

This is what my animation timeline looks like. I'm not doing anything differently than I normally would. Usually I would get each of my animations (which are just exploded views) in the representation drop down.

This is what I have for options in the representation dropdown.

I'm going to assume you've got everything saved and updated so model and drawings are up to date.  are you using milestones?

other than that, this is above my pay grade.  will need someone from AD to chime in.

Hi @jonathanYY8UL ,

Apologies that you are facing an issue.

Have you exported the design file from configured design file? If yes, we are working on fix for this problem. Please share the file to re-confirm.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Pramod
