alignment tab orientation

I always struggle whenever I use the modify > align tool to select which face plane I want it to align with. If I select a point or edge the circular alignment tab that comes up but keeps flipping from one face to another. I was wondering if there is a way to be more explicit when defining the alignment face. Like for instance if I could first click on the vertex or edge point and then click on the face before selecting the component I want  to align to. Right now I just hover my cursor around in different directions until I manage to position it correctly, but it's kind of a pain.

Hey bouinfrederic,

If I'm following you, I think this feature is what you're looking for. If you move your cursor to the feature you're trying to select, the click-hold, you'll see a list of features. This works with the align tool and any other tool that requires selection.

What are the circumstances under which you want to use the Align tool? I've been using Fusion for over a year now, and have never used it for anything.

well I guess any situation where I need to align something! for instance I've designed a table, and I'm creating a space around it to render it in, I would like the table component to be aligned with the edge of the wall of the space.

This is a cool feature I didn't know, but what I meant is when you use the align tool or the joint tool for that matter, by hovering over a point or edge you can select said point or edge as well as it's corresponding face. I uploaded a screencast to show what I mean. I find that hovering over the appropriate face is somewhat difficult.

Interesting. I would have just modeled them in the right place. Or Jointed them appropriately.
