Align view with a plane (Newbie)

For the AutoDesk answers day ...  a newbie question.

I want to align two views:

A. a specific plane on my part and

B. Between to lines on my Part.

I then want to name these to use them in my drawings.

I can create the named view by Rt. Clicking the "Named Views" in the Browser and then use that name in the Drawings pane.

However - I'm being silly and can't seem how to find the steps to orient my Model view to a particular plane, set of points, etc ...

Thank you 🙂

Ethan

Hi Ethan,

You can use the "Look At" tool, located in the toolbar at the bottom of the canvas (screen).  It's the one that looks like an opened book.  It will align the view to any planar face or workplane you select.

I'm not sure about your second request (between two lines).  Can you explain that one a bit more or post an image?

HA ! I figured it was something simple !!

For the B scenario ...

I have an angle Iron and I want to look at the plane defined by the two back edges of the angle.  Please see screenshot.

There is not Item for me to "Look At"

Thank you

Ethan

Ok, gotcha. In that case you can create a workplane through the two edges (called "Plane through two edges").  Then use the Look At command to align the view to that plane.
