Align two points in a die with themselves to form a straight line

I am trying to align two points of my body so they are straight up and down from the bottom surface, but am having no luck. I was able to align one point to the surface using the align tool, and when I tried to create a line sketch to use the join it kept coming up with a conflict. I attached a screencast but only the first few seconds mean anything.
