Advices on how to model this curved object (bend)

Hello everyone,

I want to try to mill a piece of hard wood to make a key holder , in the lower part I want to add a "flat" surface that I can place some "weird keys" (like the electronic keys in never cars)

The keyholder will be very simple , just a piece of wood with some small channels pointed down at 45 degrees, something like this

and something like in the photo bellow, in the lower section of the key holder, with just one shelve like that, should I learn the SCULPT enviroment? or I can achieve this effect using LOFT tool (or other tools) ?

Thank you.

I think loft tools would be ideal for this, though you could definitely get there with the sculpting tools.

  • You should be able to simply extrude the key holder if you sketch the side profile
  • For the second example I would use the loft tool in the patch environment.

I didn't work with the LOFT command an neither with he SCULPT enviroment, I did tried to play a little with the LOFT, but didn't came out what I expected 🙂

I will try to watch some tutorials with LOFT command, but if it's quite simple to create that shape, I will appreciate any advices from you guys. Thank you.

@lichtzeichenanlage the first part is very simple, those key channels, I'm only in doubt about the curved shape in my second picture.

The trick is to use a guiderail.
