Advice needed on running Fusion on Mac

Hi

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but I want to move over to Mac from PC.

I am not sure what is the base minimum unit to get for running Fusion 360 on. I plan to buy a mac mini to use it on.

Are there any users out there that are running Fusion 360 on a mac and have experience on what Fusion will run on so I can get an idea on what to get.

Ie. Can I get a base M4 Mac Mini, or do I need a M4 Mac Mini Pro or do I need to go up to a Mac Studio?

Kind Regards

Ian

I'm using a 2018 Mac Mini, though it does have 32 GB of memory.

Check the memory consumption of your largest Fusion models using the task manager or resource monitor on Windows.

That should give you a good indication whether or not a 16GB mac mini would be OK.

If you're getting close to the limit under Windows I'd spring for the the 24GB model.

On most "normal" Wintel desktops memory can easily be upgraded. On mac's that isn't necessarily the case (might be possible on the mac mini. Check YouTube) so buy enough at the start.

No need to go to a mac studio!

For the vast majority of Fusion users, that would be total overkill. I would not get a mac studio for my use cases.
