Hello fusionists!

I have a drawing with 6 or so sheets. It's of a cabinet. When I add a new component. Say a hinge. Once the design is saved and the drawing updated the hinge appears in every view across all the sheets messing up the drawing. I have to go and deselect the hinge in every reference on a sheet.

Is there a better work flow for this. I found a Autodesk link that says de select a ref before updating. But that only seems to work on that individual sheet. I'm trying to avoid having to go to every sheet dig through the references and select/de select things

Thanks in advance! This is such a time sink for me I would love to get a solution

You did not say how you were selecting the components for each sheet.  If you select the components you want for each sheet rather than use the assembly, the new component will only be added to the top level drawing and not to any other.  This is because the new component is not a part of the selection set for the individual sheets.  If I am understanding your workflow, it works for me.

Hey John,

Ah ok, my workflow at the moment is I select the model of the top level components I want to see on the sheet. Right click and create drawing.

Are you saying, that if I select the components from the browser, and right click create drawing, my new components wont show?

thanks for taking the time.

I have given it a ago and it comes down to my file structure. Thank you for deepening my understanding.

If i select my components - and hit create drawing all is fine.

When I add in a new one...triangle. Save and update.

it appears!

What I need to do is to make sure circle and box are component and also inside another component. If they are not another layer down, tri gets added.

Cheers!
